In partnership with Healthy Brains Global Initiative, the “Fixing Futures” Review will focus on the voices of children, young people, their families and carers, centring their narratives to identify the outcomes important to them.
Looking across complex systems from CAMHS to education, to justice, social services and the NHS, this review will mobilise concrete opportunities to catalyse wider system change by identifying where and how resources can be used most effectively for children and young people. Efficiencies identified will enable more children who need help to be seen more rapidly and with more appropriate support, reducing the waiting lists for help which currently stand at over 949,000.
It will support service providers with recommendations as to how to deliver services more efficiently and work closely with DHSC and the NHS to ensure that findings will be implemented.
Daria Bukhman, Co-Founder and Chair of Bukhman Philanthropies: “Improving the performance and reach of children and young people’s mental health services is one of the most urgent challenges in public health. Through our partnership with HBGI UK, we hope to generate the evidence and insights needed to drive system-wide change, so that resources are used where they can have the greatest impact.
”Baroness Luciana Berger: “So much more needs to be done to address the poor levels of mental health experienced by too many children and young people. This important review will identify and open up opportunities for systemic change by deep-diving into service areas of acute need and finding opportunities to maximise the way support is delivered and achieve the most with existing resources. I look forward to the reports.”
